Anonymous Voicemail
St. Michael’s has launched an anonymous voicemail for students. We strongly encourage students to report any inappropriate behaviour and incidents they have experienced, seen, or heard about at the school. Students can also call Crime Stoppers if they have information that would be relevant to the ongoing police investigation.

Anonymous Reporting Digital Solution
The school has partnered with Sprigeo, a digital platform to report bullying and school safety incidents. Reports can be submitted anonymously and are sent directly to the school’s administration.

Student Affairs Resources
This Wednesday and Thursday, support counsellors will be present in Grades 9 and 10 classrooms to help students process and work through questions and concerns they may have. On Friday, the same information sharing sessions will be available for students in Grades 7 and 8, and next week for Grades 11 and 12. SMCS administration is considering a partnership with a non-profit organization focused on building better men through youth and peer engagement, education, and empowerment.

Grade 12 Parent Information Night
On November 27, parents of the Graduating Class of 2019 are invited to the school for an informative presentation on university admissions and to answer questions surrounding student assessments. The evening is intended for all parents of students in Grade 12 and is open to parents of students in Grade 11 whose sons are taking Grade 12 courses.

Independent ‘SMCS Respect and Culture Review’
Our Board of Directors is closing in on announcing details regarding the leadership of the independent ‘Respect and Culture Review’.  This Review will take a deep dive into our school’s culture today, over the past year, and in the historic past. We have also asked that the committee deliver a preliminary report of its findings by the spring of next year, and a final report by summer 2019.

SMCS Prospective Families Meeting
Last Wednesday, St. Michael’s College School held a meeting for prospective students and their families. The meeting provided an update on the recent events that have taken place at the school, and provided information surrounding the school’s actions and next steps. Additional prospective parents breakfast meetings are scheduled for December 5 and 12 to allow perspective students and parents to have their questions answered by current students and parents.
